Drive to Marangu Gate (1900m) for Kilimanjaro views and photos. Furthermore, immerse yourself in Chagga culture and history. Following this, visit a local coffee farm to learn about cultivation, processing, and roasting, culminating in a fresh brew. Then, depart for Ndoro Waterfalls, hiking through lush landscapes (1-hour descent). Finally, relax and swim at the waterfall’s base.
Standing 150m high and nestled in the lush green forests on the foothills of Mt. Kilimanjaro, a Materuni waterfalls tour is an ideal getaway for those strapped for time. The waterfalls are located 30 minutes from Moshi town. This tour is accompanied by a visit to the Materuni village as well as a coffee tour. You will depart the lodge and head to the Materuni village. While at the village you will get to explore the lives of the Chagga people and do a coffee tour to see how the locals grow and brew coffee. After the coffee tour you will head to the waterfalls where you will have your packed lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon. Afterwards you will be transferred back to the lodge. TPC (Sugarcane plantation tour) Enjoy a relaxing ride from Moshi town to TPC, which is the oldest sugar cane plantation in Tanzania. This is a great way to see the country side and experience some of the finest food in the region, at The Planters restaurant. You will cycle south through the sugar cane fields towards TPC Club where your tour ends. You will have lunch at The Planters restaurant and enjoy a relaxing afternoon before being transferred back to the lodge. The tour takes approximately 5-6 hours.
